Violence against women touches every corner of the globe, in every country. Oppression has long been a way of life for women. Even in America, women still have long been viewed by men as second class citizens, sometimes even as slaves. America abolished slavery in 1883, yet domestic violence numbers have been increasing as reproductive rights have been eroding.  Being a woman, even in 2013, is a dangerous thing.
